It’s finally nice to see some books geared towards girls starting to hit the market. Here’s a few books that I’ve reviewed to purchase (or gift) for young women who might take an interest to computer science:

  1. Caprice Helps Design the Software
    by Barbara Davis
This story is a quick journey about how Caprice helps design and build a software platform for merchant services. The book also includes some workbooks and exercises in Scratch to help readers understand what it takes to build software.
  2. The New Girl Code
    by Niki Smit
The New Girl Code is a diary-style journey of a young girl working on an app for fashion. The app becomes very successful and you get to follow along her journey of what it takes to build something successful.
  3. Sasha Savvy Loves to Code
    by Sasha Ariel Alston
This is an early-reader chapter book that details the adventure of 10-year-old Sasha who thinks her computer summer science camp will be boring. The story paints a very realistic image of the challenges and victories of a career in coding!
