Last Valentine’s Day, I joined up to help Newhouse Studios do a project for a random selection of clients. They wanted to express appreciation to them inĀ  personal way so we spent the weekend making valentines. It was a fun way to go back to my childhood crafty days and reminded me why I love paper and ink oh-so-much. Of course, we were at an advantage for knowing someone with an entire room dedicated to scrapbooking. That was, for sure, a huge plus on our part. She was compensated with a gift card to one of her favorite restaurants for providing her knowledge and expertise to the project.

Burt had the task of placing the letters on the stamper.

Burt got the fun task of placing the letters on the stamp holder. It required an intense amount of concentration and focus. Not really the job for caffeine addicts, such as myself, so I was happy to pass this one along.

Brenda had to cut the letters apart with a razor blade.

On the other side of the room, Brenda got to cut out all of the tiny letters and spell out the words we needed.

Valentine's Day project

This was our working space.

As you can see, we actually drew out and tested our concept to ensure a successful outcome. Some would call it wire-framing or preliminary sketching… I’ll just go with practice.

This is what we ended up with by the end of the day!

This was our finished product at the end of the day. We personalized every box for the recipient, included a valentine and a referral card.

Each box contained the valentine, chocolates and a referral card.

The two cards were then placed into the box with chocolates. Mmmmmm!

The boxes are ready for deployment.

All of the valentines we made that day were hand delivered to the recipient.

This is secretly my favorite photo. Don't tell Burt.

I think one of the things I enjoyed the most was documenting the steps of this creative project. Often times, creative people get stuck in their groove and don’t really get an opportunity to venture out and do other things. Thank you, Newhouse Studios, for allowing me to sit in on your project. I think this is a great way to send a small thank you to clients.

PS: Sorry it took me almost a year to get this up. Just in time for Valentine’s Day! XOXO
